Charmeur

2007 17.1h KWPN Stallion

Florencio I keur / Jazz stb pref / Ulft keur

Charmeur (Florencio x Jazz) is coming to North America! Canadream Farms is thrilled to announce the purchase of the world-renowned KWPN stallion Charmeur. This shining star of Dutch breeding has innumerable top class offspring and is a successful Grand Prix competitor himself. We are pleased and proud to offer this eminent, prepotent stallion at stud in Canada.

Charmeur’s talent is evident in his extraordinary performance career. For the first step of his winning career, Charmeur won the KWPN stallion performance test; he went on to win the Pavo Cup Finals twice; he competed successfully on the small tour, and ultimately he became a Grand Prix horse regularly scoring in the 70’s at the CDI level. Charmeur accomplished all this while standing at stud as one of the Netherlands’ most popular stallions.

Highlights of Charmeur’s career include:

  • Winner of Pavo Cup Finals in both 2011 and 2012
  • Represented the Netherlands at the 2012 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany where he finished fifth in the 5-Year-Old finals.
  • Champion of the 2010 KWPN Spring Stallion Performance Test scoring 86.5 points, with 9’s for trot, canter, self-carriage, rideability and dressage potential.
  • Winner of the 2012-2013 KWPN Stallion Competition at M Level with Emmelie Scholtens, where his trot scored a perfect “10” for its clear rhythm and uphill tendency.
  • In 2017 Chameur competed successfully on the Small Tour with rider Madeline Witte-Vrees. The pair earned several scores between 74 and 75%.
  • Grand Prix debut in May 2018, winning his class with a 72.39 with rider Madeline Witte-Vrees.
  • Excellent results at Grand Prix in 2018 and 2019 for Charmeur and Madeleine Witte-Vrees. Winnings include Etten Leur with 74.40%, Den Dungen with 72%, and Liempde with 72.73%

Charmeur is a son of the keur stallion Florencio (Florestan x Weltmeyer) out of a mare by Jazz. The dark bay Westfalen-bred Florencio rocked the 2004 World Young Horse Championships with Hans Peter Minderhoud, winning the finals with record high scores, including a “10” for his canter (9.8 walk and 9.7 trot). The pair returned in 2005 to win the 6-year-old finals, again with a 10 for canter. Florencio competed to Intermediare 1, and then demand for him as a sire took precedence and he retired to focus on breeding. Florencio excelled as sire as well, with more than 40 approved sons and many international Grand Prix horses, such as Hubertus Schmidt’s Florenciano and Dorothee Schneider’s Fackeltanz. Sadly he passed away early at the age of 17.

Charmeur’s dam Trendy elite preferent is by Jazz, one of the most successful dressage sires in history. Jazz has been ranked number one five times by the World Breeding Federation of Sport Horses. Trendy descends from a highly predicated mare line of outstanding producers. Her dam Endy (by Ulft) is prestatie preferent keur.

At the age of five, Charmeur already sired the largest foal crop in the Netherlands (2012). He continues to reign as one of the KWPN’s most popular breeding stallions, with more than 1300 registered offspring to date. Charmeur offspring are proving to be impressive under saddle. He has the most Z-level or higher offspring for his age group.

Charmeur also has four KWPN approved sons, plus a few more stallions licensed Oldenburg and NRPS, and many exceptional mares. The Charmeur son High Five U.S. (Negro) has already had two sons selected for the performance test.

Some of his outstanding offspring include:

Other FEI level offspring include Grandeur, Generaal and Gyon, and Hurricane Domino (D Day), who is already competing on the Small Tour.

Here are a few of his daughters, with their excellent keuring results:

  • Irabel (Westpoint) elite sport, 8th place 2016 NMK, IBOP 87.5
  • Hot Spring (Flemmingh) elite, 7th place 2015 NMK, Studbook inspection 80/90

  • Helena (Prestige VDL) finale NMK 2015
  • Johanna Sollenburg (Fidermark) 13th place 2017 NMK, Studbook inspection 75/85, scoring 90 for trot
